THE COMPANY:
We'reexclusively recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable multi-million-pound FMCG business located in Preston that is looking to significantly expand their operation.
They're seeking a Production Planner to join the team for a period of 6 months whilst they upgrade systems to create business efficiency's in preparation for their next growth. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Production Planner to bring their expertise and gain exposure within this truly forward thinking and inspirational business.
Whilst this is a contract position, you'll gain great experience within a business that has it's sight set on becoming the UK's largest within their industry.
THE PRODUCTION PLANNER ROLE:
* Working closely with the current Production Planner, you'll be taking responsibility for the Production Planning for a period of 6 months to assist with the business transition.* Provide accurate, relevant and timely information and reports for Director of Operations, Production Manager and other Managers as required.
* Operating and maintaining the planning system software in use for the manufacture and packing of bulk and finished goods.
* Formulate packing and manufacturing schedules on a weekly and monthly basis to maintain the finished goods stocks.
* Plan and monitor stock levels to ensure stock is maintained at an agreed level and value.
* Take action to achieve the required stock levels as appropriate.
* Calculate material requirements and communicate these to the Buying / Planning Manager so that they can be purchased at least 3 months in advance.
* Produce short, medium and long term utilisation figures for all packing and manufacturing equipment.
* Generate and check product artwork, inc' own label, as required
* Generate, amendand print BMR's and BPR's as required
* Provide training and coaching to other team members as required.
THE PERSON:
*Must have experience as a Production Planner within a manufacturing business
* Experience of monitoring and planning stock requirements
* Good experience of calculating stock needs
* Experience of using planning systems and software
* Must be available for immediate interview and be able to fully commit to a 6-month contract
