FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for Assistant Farm Manager (Poultry/Hatchery) for a large scale poultry farm operation in Saudi Arabia. This is full-time permanent roles.
Summary of Role
To assist the Farm Manager in the successful operation of the Hatchery units by the close supervision of work and by the provision of guidance and advice to all staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be responsible for the following duties :
* Ensure to achieve physical and financial performance for areas of responsibility within parameters agreed with theFarm Manager to meet or exceed the budget.
* Ensure that operational efficiency and smooth running of the unit by managing the hatchery if both the Farm Manager and Sr. Farm Manager are absent to
* Ensure to motivate staff to achieve ever-greater levels of efficiency in all aspects of their work and develop their potential skills to benefit the individual and the company.
*Ensure to manage and develop the ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001and ISO 45000 Quality Management System to allow retention of ourCertification and to enhance the quality ethos on the farm.
* To ensure that Health and Safety standards are met in all activities taking place on the farm to ensure that a safe working environment is provided for all employees.
* Responsible for theimplementation of the animal welfare system as per NSF GLOBAL standard and ensure staff are aware of the animal welfare system.* To monitor on a daily basis the performance of all units and to ensure they are operating within Divisional guidelines.
*To encourage and promote the development of all individuals within your team to achieve their potential.
* To plan in conjunction with Unit Managers and Herdsmen the annual vacations of all staff with a view to ensuring adequate levels of manpower on-site at all times.
* To keep the farm manager informed at all times of relevant information regarding the farm's operations at intervals and in the manner stipulated by the Farm Manager.
* In conjunction with the Farm Managers and Head of Poultry, assistin the preparation of a capital and revenue budget for the coming year for approval of EVP Poultry.
* To assume the duties andresponsibilities of the Farm Manager in his absence when requested.
* Within the Divisional guidelines, to agree on the chicks' selection criteria and culling criteria with the Farm manager and to implement these criteria throughout the year.
* To ensure that all standard records of hatchery performance are maintained and be capable of analyzing and reporting conclusions drawnfrom these.
* Ensure that the chicks vaccination procedures are always properly implemented as per Veterinary Department guidelines in the hatchery
Candidate profile and experience required
* Diploma in agriculture or equivalent
* Hands on livestock management skills
* Must have good man management skills, influencing skills, good communication skills, computer literate and driving license
* Must have the ability to work in a remote environment, with a multi nationality workforce, on a hands on role within the business.
