FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a General Manager of a behalf of an expanding agribusiness in the Wexford area. This is a full-time permanent role.

My client has been serving the Irish farming sector for over 40 years, in that period of time they have made a significant contribution to the farming sector.
The primary function of this role is to manage the day-to-day operations of the business while also driving both business growth and commercial focus.
The successful candidate for this role will understand the technical nature of dairy farming products and possess the ability to communicate and negotiate with suppliers for best prices.
Reporting to a Senior Director you will becomean important part of the senior management team and be responsible for the following duties.
* To develop sales level per existing member by improved management of the sales function of the existing team in the office.
* To directly manage the purchasing function and the relationship with suppliers in order to maximise the commercial relationship with them.
* Manage and support the marketing team to continue to improve marketing tactics and focus.
* Propose and manage new structures/roles toeffectively develop new clients and to maintain on the ground communication with existing ones.
* Achieve targets and tacticsto maximise the commercial benefit of the retail unit and store facilities.
* Take full responsibility for the operations management of the business, its processes and its staff management and to report to the overall management team.
* Drive efficiency and net profit from existing business and range of services.
* Train and develop existing staff and work in a collaborativeway.
* To take on new areas of development when they arise
Candidate profile
* Relevant purchasing experience
* Strong technical knowledge of products that are used on dairy farms.
* Substantial experience of managing people for optimum performance and meeting targets.
* Experience and interest in working as part of a team and having a style that is positive, proactive and cooperative.
* Have the ability to make commercial decisions and carry them out.
* The ability to interpret data and derive information for tactic development.
* 3RD level qualification in Agriculture / Business or related discipline an advantage but not essential
