FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a General Manager for a leading agribusiness that has played a crucial role in crop innovation in recent years.
Our client has seen exponential growth over the last 8 years and has ambitions to continue to grow their commercial and research presence in the Irish market.
We are seeking a commercially astuteand highly motivated General Manager who can continue to drive the company's development. This vacancy has arisen due to an internal promotion and represents an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team with a excellent product range.
Duties to include.
* Full responsibility for the commercial success of the company , including meeting sales & profit targets . Manage the budgeting process and ensure that sufficient resources are in place to meet targets.
* Ensure that the Board of Directors are kept fully and properly informed of business plans , developments & challenges.
* Build strong business relationships with key local & international personnel and enhance the standing of the Irish business within the wider companyorganisation.
* Manage sales , administration , logistics and research teams ( 10 + people ) ensuring that activities are coordinated to achieve business goals.
* Sales & Marketing - grow the company's customer base and increase sales to existingcustomers & continue to develop and promote the company's reputation for innovation & practical effectiveness.
* Planning - take overall responsibility for multi crop production plans , aligning variety availability with sales budgets. Plan monthly and weekly production to match product availability with customer demand.
* Research & development - work with both domestic and international R & D & product management teams to identify varieties & product categories that can be successfully marketing in Ireland & abroad. Ensure that in-house research trials are carried out to the highest standards to assist in the process.
* Business development - Foster strong working relationships with key industry stakeholders ( including government agencies , key suppliers & agricultural research centres ) to create innovative revenue streams that are both sustainable & profitable.
Candidate profile
* A minimum of 5 year's experience in a management role.
* The ability to lead , manage & motivate staff.
* Commercially astute with vision for opportunity and change.
* 3rd level qualification in Agriculture , Business or related discipline.
* Previous management experience from the agricultural sector an advantage but not essential.
