FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a General Manager of a behalf of an expanding agribusinessin the Wexford area. This is a full-time permanent role.

My client has been serving the Irish farming sector for over 40 years, in that period they have made a significant contribution to the farming sector.
The primary functionof this role is to manage the day-to-day operations of the business while also driving both business growth and commercial focus.
The successful candidate for this role will understand the technical nature of dairy farming products and possess the ability to communicate and negotiate with suppliers for best prices.
Reporting to a Senior Director you will become an importantpart of the senior management team and be responsible for the following duties.
Sales
* To develop sales levels by continuous improvement of the sales function.
* Manage and support the marketing team to continue to improve marketing tactics and focus.
* Propose and manage new structures/roles to effectively develop new clients and to maintain the existing ones.
Commercial Development
* To maximize the commercial benefits of the retail unit and store facilities.
* To directly managethe purchasing function and the relationship with suppliers in order to maximise the commercial relationship with them.
Resource and process development
* Continuously improve the staff ability to work efficiently and in a collaborative manner by training and mentoring.
* To be part of the team to drive strategic review and development.
* To implement new strategies andtactics as they are agreed.
Responsibilities and reporting
* Take full responsibility for the operations management ofthe business, its processes and its staff management and to report to the overall management team
* Drive efficiency and achievement of KPI's for the business and range of services.
Candidate profile
* Relevant purchasing experience
* Strong technical knowledge of products that are used on dairy farms.
* Substantial experience of managing people for optimum performance and meeting targets.
* Experience and interest in working as part of a team and having a style that is positive, proactiveand cooperative.
* Have the ability to make commercial decisions and achieve the desired outcomes.
* The ability to interpret data and derive information for tactic development.
* 3RD level qualification in Agriculture / Business or related discipline an advantage but not essential
