FRS Recruitment is now inviting applications for the role of 'Subeditor' on behalf of a leading Irish Agri media business. Indeed, this is a fixed term contract(11 months duration) and based in Dublin.
You will lay out and sub-edit pages of all publications undertaken by our client and their multiple print brands. Edit and prepare graphics for web stories. Also work on any other publications as required and under the direction of the Group Production Editor as required.
The Role
· Sub-edit, and amend as necessary,all copy used in the production of our clients publications for both print and online.
· Ensure that such copy is factuallycorrect, and is grammatically comprehensible.
· Rewrite copy where necessary in consultation with the originator of such copyto facilitate readability, following house style as it is established and directed by the Group Production Editor.
· Layoutand design pages as directed by the Group Production Editor using such copy, graphics and images as are made available to createreadable and attractive pages.
· Sub-editing and layout is to be carried out using such facilities as are supplied by our client, including software, hardware and print outputs.
· Write appropriate headlines and captions for stories and images.
·Deliver our clients content to digital channels.
The Person
· Third-level degree in journalism or equivalent.· Experience in page layout subediting and design, and of working in a production team
· Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
· Ability to work to strict deadlines
· Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills.
· Experience in editing web stories in a content management system.
