SENIOR STRATEGIC BUYER - CONSTRUCTION / AUTOMOTIVE
HEREFORD
THE OPPORTUNITY:
An exciting opportunityhas arisen for an experienced Senior Strategic Buyer to join an industry leading business within Hereford area. The successful candidate will join the business as a Senior Strategic Buyer and will also hold the responsibility for leading the UK & remote (int.) purchasing department. In addition to leading the team, the Senior Strategic Buyer will also take responsibility as a Category Buyer.
Whilst there will be no travel requirements at present, once restrictions ease, the Senior Strategic Buyer will be required to travel internationally 3 to 4 times per year to meet with the remote purchasing department.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a highly experience Senior Buyer who is looking for an opportunity with a highly successful organisation.THE SENIOR STRATEGIC BUYER / TEAM LEADER ROLE:
* As the Senior Strategic Buyer, you'll be responsible for leading a localteam in Hereford and a remote team based internationally
* Acting as a hands-on Category Buyer in the following areas; Road Transport, Parcel Service, Logistics Services, Warehousing, Packaging & Fleet
* Responsible for supplier management, contract negotiations
* Implementing complex material group strategies
* Managing & coordinating live projects
* Working tokey strict deadlines
* Attending leadership meetings and actively contributing

THE PERSON:
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent
* You'll need to have strong experience as a Senior Strategic Buyer within either the automotive orconstruction sector
* Experience of leading a Buying / Purchasing department both in the UK and Internationally would be a significant advantage
* Strong experience of Customs, both imports and exports
* Willing to travel internationally 3 to 4 timesper year
* Excellent negotiation skills, contract management and good industry knowledge is essential
