Technical Support Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PLC and Controls Engineer to join an automation specialist based in the Northamptonshire area.
This is a HOME BASED technical support role to cover various clients' sites predominately around the Midlands and South.
The Role:
Working a 37.5 hours week, your role is to support the client base for all trouble-shooting and performance issues. You will also work on large automation projects with duties including; Integration, testing, and commissioning.
Daily Duties:
* Working on Conveyor systems, Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems, Crane, Carousels and other associated Material Handling equipment.
* Accountable for the controls specification for new sites, currentclient upgrades, repairs, trouble-shooting and general modifications.
* Be part of the dedicated technical PLC and Controls team for all on site PLC related issues or concerns. You must be able to continually improve and optimise the systems so that theautomated Systems can deliver their contracted performance
* You'll mostly work with Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC's
* Weekly "On Call" rota (around 1 in 7 weeks.
The Candidate:
* The successful candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent such as HND/HNC.C&G etc in Electrical Engineering.
* You will preferably have experience in logistics and material handling systems however other industries will be consider such as plant automation, Automotive, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical, semi-conductor or water/waste water Industry.
* Siemens Controls are the primary system but candidatescould have similar experience working with other systems such as: Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Automation Direct, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba
* Driving License Essential
* Reading, manipulation and creation of electrical drawings.
This Position will suit an Electrical Engineer , Electrical Technician , Automation Engineer, PLC Engineer, Technical Support or Controls Technician.
