I am delighted to be partnering my client, a leading engineering company in Shannon, in recruiting a Design Engineer to join their team.

The successful candidate will have a minimum 2 years' experience within a similar role.
Responsibilities
* Design of new productsincluding industrial furniture and hardware.
* Liaise with customers regarding specific customer design requirements and taking various on-site measurements where required.
* Producing concept drawings to provide to customers for review.
* Generatingquotations based on the designs provided to customers.
* Producing a job card which contains manufacturing/production drawings for the manufacture of the product. Producing a job card would include:
* Developing flat patterns of the various sheet metal items in the design.
* Creating CNC punching programmes for sheet metal items.
* Detailed Fold drawings for brake pressoperators.
* Cut list for any stock size material for the saw operators.
* Detailed part drawing for all parts that may require self-clinching hardware.
* Detailed weld drawings with all required information for manufacture including all critical dimensions and features.
* Working in partnership with fabricators where any queries may arise during the manufacturing process.
Job Specifications
Requirements and skills:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
* Experience in CAD software including SolidWorks, Radan CNC Programming, AutoCad.
* Ability to operate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
* Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks to achieve deadlines.
* Good understanding of safetystandards.
* Strong communication skills as well as excellent problem-solving skills.
