Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineerto join our dynamic team in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing electrical systems for our special purpose machinery, ensuring seamless integration into our client's production processes. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in automation, PLC programming, and commercial acumen to deliver effective engineering solutions.Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical systems for special purpose machinery, considering automation requirements and integration into client's production processes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of electrical components, such as gearboxes, motors, PLCs, servo controllers, and safety devices.
* Program PLCs and configure servo controllers to meet project requirements.
* Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure reliability and performance.
* Provide technical support to internal teams and clients, offering guidance on electrical system functionality and operation.
* Assess project requirements and develop cost-effective engineering solutions while considering commercial implications.
* Travel occasionally (up to 20% of the time) to client sites for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or HNC with complimenting experience.
* Previous experience in automation and integrating machinery into production processes.
* Proficiencyin PLC programming and configuration.
* Solid understanding of electrical components, including gearboxes, motors, servo controllers, and safety devices.
* Commercially astute mindset with the ability to balance technical solutions with business objectives.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
