Mechanical Design Engineer - Gloucester - Up To £40,000 Per Annum
An increasing demand for our ever expanding portfolio has created an exciting position for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join my client's engineering team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to design and develop a range of heavy goods transportation vehicles, taking the product from initial concept through to prototype for the UK'sleading manufacturers of their product.
Job Specification
·Work individually, as part of a team, or the product championto take a project from concept through to production
·Work closely with internal and external customers to establish the applications requirements and produce a clearly defined specification
·Produce CAD models, layouts, calculations, assemblies and detail drawings (Solidworks)
·Introduce new designs into manufacture. This will include the organisation of BOM's, processes, tooling and manufacturing documentation
·Work with shop floor personnel during the manufacture of prototypes, solving production problems and analysis/improvement of processes and tooling
·Organise and maintain the standards, documentation and literature necessary to successfully introduce/maintain a product
·Ensure that work/projects meet the agreed specification and are completed on time and within the cost estimates
·Supervise relevant personnel
Skills
·Good knowledge of designing fabrications, engines and hydraulic systems;
·Educated to HND/Degree level in a relevant design/engineering discipline;
·Have a good understanding of steel processing operations, welding and the assembly of complex products.
