CLAIMS HANDLER
BIRMINGHAM
SALARY £25,000 to £30,000

THE OPPORTUNITY:
One of Birmingham's most respected brokers is now looking to expand their claims team after recent unprecedented growth and has a position for a claims handler to join them. The candidate will need to be highly motivated and looking to grow their career within the Insurance profession.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure the smooth running of all claims by adhering to claims management processes and procedures
* Control your own diary system, ensuring all items are followed up by the due dates, particularly in relation to outstanding documentationfrom clients or insurers
* Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their risk exposures and insurance needs through the comprehension of their claim's history/experience
* Accurately maintain all records (claims, client, insurer, compliance, etc. where appropriate) on Acturis software system
* Where appropriate offer and provide visits to client premises
* Tocarry out any other duties as required by the business

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
* CII - Working towards Diploma

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Problem solving and analytical skills* Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
* Influencing skills
* Able to quickly modify priorities/actions in the light of change
* Seen by the client as someone who will pull out all the stops but will be honest in managing expectations * Seek to understand the audience and tailor own approach based on this understanding

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Previous claims handling experience
* Detailed knowledge of the core range of policies (combined liability, property, motor fleet, etc.)
* Knowledge of operating structures, processes, and objectives of the client's business.
