Overview of the Compliance Manager:
As Compliance Manager UK, the employee will be part of the Compliance, Risk and Internal Control team and will report to the Head of Compliance. The position will focus on regulatory complianceand data protection matters for the London office.
The Compliance Manager will provide and oversee compliance coverage to internal business units. In addition, the Compliance Manager will answer and support any client's requests relating to company compliance, data protection standards, policies and will manage the relationship with the FCA and the ICO.
Compliance Manager Duties:
* Owning the compliance framework and the associated action plans in consultation with each business owner to mitigatethe risks the company is exposed to.
* Maintaining and updating all necessary policies (AML, ABC, Sanctions, gifts and entertainment, conflict of interest, etc.) and developing the related processes required from with all businesses and employees.
* Leading the necessary actions in the handling of personal data by the business to comply with GDPR including but not limited to playing an active role in projects analysis, processing records, DPIAs, Breach handling and register, SARs.
* Providing necessary management information to the Executive Committee and to the Supervisory Board as required on any Compliance issues.
* Ensuring the implementation and ongoing adherence to the Senior Manager's Certification Regime in partnership with HR & CEO.
*Reviewing the output from the Monitoring Programme and incident log and ensure that any remedial action is completed.
* Ensuring that the Distribution activities, sales flow, product and marketing materials are in compliance with applicable regulations.* Providing assistance to other team members on compliance subjects in order to integrate the best practices.
* Managing theFirm's relationship with the FCA and the ICO.
* Providing regulatory updates.
Ideal Background:
* Minimum of 6 to 8 years' experience (or equivalent) in Compliance/Regulatory role in the insurance/reinsurance sectors
* Solid knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework and regulatory requirement applicable to insurance and reinsurance intermediary
* Familiarity with Regulatory issues relating to Insurance and Reinsurance intermediary would be beneficial
* Project Management skills and ability to meet deadlines
* Team player and good communicator both written and oral
* Good analytical skills
* Operate with minimumsupport or guidance
* Good business acumen to take a practical viewpoint and help support effective solutions
