* Airfreight Shipping Coordinator - Exports
* £24,000 - £26,000 per annum
* 6 -12 month contract covering maternity but strong potential to convert to permanent
* Role based in Bedfont - fully on-siteExports Coordinator specialising in Airfreight is required for a global logistics company who is going through rapid growth. This role is working on-site full time and you will be working weekly shift patterns as follows:-
Week One working Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Week Two working Tuesday - Saturday 7am - 4pm
Main scope of the role:
Responsible for preparing export documents in line with official guidelines, including internal schedules/procedures and external bookings with carriers. Follow up with carriers on delays and concerns, resolve any issue that may arise in the shippingchain.
Duties will include
* Preparing export documentation by air, MAWB, CI, CN documents (postal)
* Liaising with Airlines and General Sales Agents regarding flight capacity, booking space, equipment
* Monitoring flight schedules and capacity
* Monitoring performance and requesting uplift confirmation from airlines
* Maintaining in-house export schedule and providing processing instructions for warehouse operations
* Maintaining air transport related KPI's, performance reports and documents
* Liaising with warehouse management, operatives regarding accurate and on time export production
* Reporting to Client Services delays in clear and timely manner
* Ensure on time uplift is executed and uplift confirmation is requested following day
* Make sure that we maintain capacity with carriers based on operations demand
* Monitor production and supply relevant information to road transport department for accurate vehicle allocation for delivery into an airline
* Update various transport reports and report any issue to line manager, operations management and customer service team
Skills and experience required:
* It is essential that you have previous experience in shipping/exporting goods by air
* Understanding airfreight and airline operations
* Experience planning bookings for the month ahead
* Experience entering the MAWBs on internalsystems and airline portals
* Ability to have discussions with airlines regarding rates
* Postal and freight world knowledge* Import and export by air transport operations
* Be able to work at speed with high level of accuracy
* Be polite, positive, honest and have a can-do attitude and willing to learn
* Knowledge of Box Top and ASM Sequoia will be a bonus
