Description:
The Role* Based from the Head-Office you will work within a team of 4 skilled engineers providing 24/7 technical support to automateddistribution sites around the UK and Europe.
* This is an office based position with occasional site based trips for trainingand expertise.
* You will manage cover 24/7 via a rota of 12 hours days / night Panama shift pattern.
* Whilst this requires the knowledge of a controls expert you will also support in tracing faults where the resident maintenance team are struggling.This may not ultimately be a software issue but may be an electrical or even mechanical based problem.
Duties will include:-
* Identification and resolving of issues with PLC's and WCS's (Warehouse Control Systems).
* Support PLC programming, testing and commissioning.
* Take calls and act as the 1st point of call for any technical queries relating to the PLC's / Control Systems and general automation faults.
* Update the Technical Help desk systems
The Candidate
* The successful candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship or Equivalent such as a HND/HNC.C&G etc in Electrical Engineering
* Will preferable have come from a Maintenance Engineering background and worked through into a Control systems speciality
* Experienced user of Siemens S7 PLC's (however other makes will be considered) and fault finding with Ladder Logic software
* You must have the ability provide technical support to Engineers advising best solutions
* Ability to read, analyse and interpret technical drawings
* The successful candidate will preferably have experience in logistics and material handling systems however other industries will be consider such as plant automation, Automotive, Food Processing, Bio-tech, Pharmaceutical, semi-conductor or water/waste water Industry.
