My client is currently seeking a Senior Warehouse Operative / Warehouse Supervisor to join their team. This role requires experience in warehouse operations, specifically in chilled, frozen, and ambient food storage, as well as FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) experience. The ideal candidate should also have knowledge of ERP systems and be proficient in stock management.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee and participate in daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods.
* Receive, inspect, and store incoming goods according to established procedures.
* Maintain proper storage conditions for chilled, frozen, and ambient food products, adhering to safety and quality standards.
* Ensure accurate stock management, including tracking inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks, and initiating replenishment orders as needed.
* Collaborate with other teams, such as logistics and procurement, to coordinate the flow of goods and optimise warehouse processes.
* Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the warehouse, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Trainand support junior warehouse operatives, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of best practices.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in warehouse operations, specifically in chilled, frozen, and ambient food storage, and FMCG environment.
* Proficient knowledge of ERP systemsfor inventory management.
* Strong understanding of stock management principles and procedures.
* Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively and have previous experience operating a forklift (valid licence a distinct advantage)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
The working hours for this role are Monday - Friday 8am - 5PM (noweekends and no shifts!!) the facility is within a short commute (30-40mins) of Ballinrobe, Headford, Tuam, Glaway City and surrounds and Castlebar. Salary is between €35-40k PA depending on experience.
