Description:
THE ROLE:-Working as support to the sales team the Solutions Designer will initially carry out surveys of the customers current logistics process analysing material flow, space availability, sales and order data and long term business plans.
From this you will conceptualise revised or new layouts and processes from an array of automated and non-automated equipment to increase efficiency, productivity and long-term site capabilities.
The successful concept designer will use tools such as Excel or (similar data base systems) and AutoCAD for layout design and modelling theoretical warehouse solutions.
Your role will include;Preparation of technical documents, liaising with external suppliers to assess most appropriate equipment, presentations to clients and arranging of meetings and projects activities.
EXPERIENCE:-
Previous experience is required from a similarrole (3 years preferred) but not necessarily from Logistics (although would be the preference).
The client can train on thespecific equipment they work with however you must have strong experience and a thorough understanding of generating solutions for automation processes and material flow.
THE CANDIDATE:-
To be successful you will need a logical mind, have good problem solving abilities, be a good verbal and written communicator, organised and confident with IT packages.
You must be happy to travel to client's site as required which may, on occasion include UK, European and World-wide travel.
