My client a transport and logistics company is seeking a Transport Manager to join their team in the Fermoy area.
Job Overview:
The Transport Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of Transport Operations. Reporting to the Operations Director, the position contributes to the development and implementation of the company's Values, Policies and Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily planning operations to achieve best possible efficiency in terms of driver, truck, and equipment routing
* Liaise with planners and Key Account Administrators to ensure high quality customer service
* Ensure accurate preparation of daily paperwork for drivers
* Monitor driver working hours to ensure balance work days and work weeks
* Develop a robust planning and management system for milk operations over a full 12-month period
* Conduct detailed route and time management analysis to drive efficiency across the transport operations* Deliver on a set of Monthly and Annual Performance Indicators
* Develop and implement a staff development program for the transport planning team
