Transport Planner - Near Mullingar / Trim
We are currently seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our client's team. Reporting to the Transport Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of heavy industry products to our client's valued customers. This role requires a proactiveindividual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the delivery of heavy industry products to customers, ensuring compliance with transport specifications and documentation requirements.
* Work under tight deadlines, employing problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise.
* Book boats for heavy haulage and rectification teams, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
* Manage the downloading of drivers' digi-cards and address any infringements, maintaining accurate records.
* Monitor drivers' walkaround checks and subcontractors' trailer numbers.
* Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule CVRT and services for vehicles, updating relevant systems accordingly.
* Liaise with the transport and maintenance teams regarding tachographs, maintenance issues, and other relevant matters.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance and vehicle paperwork, updating the ERP system asneeded.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong knowledge of transport, logistics, and haulage operations.
* Experience arranging haulage of large and oversized loads a distinct advantage.
* Knowledge and understanding of UK Customs procedure a distinct advantage
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a transport or logistics environment.
* Transport Manager CPC qualificationwould be advantageous.
* Ability to work well in a team and independently, with exceptional attention to detail.
* Valid driving license with no endorsements required.
* Mechanical knowledge would be beneficial.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

* Effective communication skills at all levels.
* Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel.
* Exceptional organisational abilities.
