Description:
Yard Supervisor - Waste Management
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual tojoin client's team as a Yard Supervisor in the waste management sector. As the Yard Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role inoverseeing the efficient processing and yard operations, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and optimising landfill diversion.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise processing and yard operatives, including scheduling work rotas to meet logistics, operational, and leave requirements.
* Manage traffic at the waste transfer centre, directing waste to appropriate tipping areas, and ensuring proper processing and documentation.
* Implement cost-effective measures to reduce processing costs andmeet EPA requirements.
* Plan and schedule preventative maintenance for plant and equipment, ensuring daily checklists are completed.
* Take ownership of key controls, including cost controls, health and safety, revenue protection, compliance, and payroll.
* Collaborate with Environmental Compliance and H&S functions to ensure regulatory compliance and facilitate external audits.
* Work closely with the H&S team to create a safe working environment, providing training and equipment to staffand contractors.
* Actively participate in the Performance Management process to achieve personal and team objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the waste management or recycling industry.
* Flexibility to work across different business sections.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland and proficiency in English.
*ECDL certification with good systems knowledge.
* Relevant Machinery Licences (Digger, Forklift, etc.) considered a distinctadvantage.
* Manual Handling experience.
* Supervisory Skills Certificate desirable.
* Logistics and industrial processingskills are desirable.
