THE COMPANY:
We're proud tobe exclusively appointed to support a leading FMCG Manufacturing business who is seeking a highly experienced Head of Operationsto join the business.
The Head of Operations role is a key hire for the business as the post holder will be responsible fordirect leadership of 6 Managers across the business which includes: Manufacturing, Health & Safety, Engineering, Planning,Procurement and Warehousing. Across all functions, you'll have in-direct leadership of circa 60 team members.
The successfulcandidate will need to be a strong people leader who has a proven track record of leading operations within a manufacturing / FMCG business who excellent natural communication skills.

THE HEAD OF OPERATIONS POSITION:
* Full responsibility for leading all operational functions including (Manufacturing, HSE, Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Warehouse)
* Setting the site annual Operations strategy and delivering upon it
* Delivery of the site Operation Excellence objectives, supporting continuous improvement, streamlining processes and performance improvement
* Provide effective leadership, coaching, support, and development of direct reports
* Accountable for compliance with all business regulatory policies compliance.
* Develop and agree annual budget plan for Operations
* Ensure annual plans in place to achieve budget requirements and deviations are mitigated
* Project manage site capital expenditure in line with capex team and site development plans
* Ensure all reporting is effective, completed and escalated appropriately
* Accountability for any documentation of any accidents within the department, these must be reported and investigated with the objective of preventing their re-occurrence by improving practices and systems* Accountability for all accidents or dangerous occurrences to be reported by the company to the enforcing authority where required by the reporting of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences regulations 1995
* Support a culture of positive safetyin compliance with HSE requirements
* Support the Leadership team to achieve the site goals and objectives in a collaborativemanner
* Review and complete financial analysis on the effectiveness and performance of the business on a regular basis.
THE PERSON:
* Must have held a Head of Operations / Director of Operations / Operations Director position, or similar, withina manufacturing business, ideally from FMCG.
* A strong people leader and a superb communicator
* Good knowledge & experience of manufacturing and distribution environments
* An understanding of the procurement process
* Knowledge of the following would be desirable; HMRC Rules, GMP, HCAPP
