Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and promoting best practices in health and safety across our six operational sites in Ireland. This role requiresclose collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization and involves a wide range of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Training: Provide Health and Safety and Manual Handling training to all new employees and ensure yearly reviews andrefresher training are completed.
Compliance Training: Ensure all compliance training is provided, including fire warden, first aid responder, chemical spill response, rescue and working at heights, MEWP, and VDU assessments.
Monthly H&S Meetings: Chair monthly health and safety meetings, providing updates to the business and addressing concerns.
Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments and maintain depot risk registers on the documentation system, ensuring compliance with Section 19 of theHealth Safety and Welfare at Work Act.
Internal Audits: Perform internal health and safety audits for supply chain depots nationwide.
Incident Investigations: Conduct accident and incident investigations, and when necessary, provide mitigating actions. Report all accidents as required to the Health and Safety Authority.
External Representation: Represent the company at HSAinspections, insurance meetings, and customer audits.
Advisory Role: Offer sound advice and guidance to the business on health and safety-related matters.
Injury Claims: Administer all personnel injury claims and act as the point of contact betweenthe company, insurance providers, loss adjusters, and solicitors.
Emergency Preparedness: Ensure fire drills are completed asper statutory requirements and that emergency response plans are reviewed, updated, and communicated effectively.
Other Duties: Handle any other reasonable requests related to health and safety management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in a multi-site environment.
In-depth knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Certification in relevant health and safety disciplines is a plus.
