Currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineering Manager to work with our manufacturing client based in Laois
Role and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all facilities, services, and equipment under his/her control are adequately maintained in accordance withthe approved maintenance programmes by:
* Maintaining and developing planned maintenance routines for all relevant equipmentbased on manufacturer's instructions, equipment importance and usage rates.
* Assist and lead internal development projects inthe production facility.
* Incorporating maintenance requirements in supply contracts for new equipment where appropriate.
*Developing regular inspection and maintenance routines for all facilities, services, and equipment.
* Manage and mentor a teamof fitters, electricians, and technicians to complete scheduled maintenance programs and respond to unplanned breakdowns.
* Assisting in defining requirements for all equipment and buildings, especially in seeking ease of maintenance and operation.
* Dealing with suppliers and vendors to assist with breakdowns and equipment or facilities issues.
* Ensure all calibrations and inspections where necessary are completed and records are kept for audit review.
* Ensure adequate levels of critical spare partsare held in stock.
* Supervising all external contractors in the implementation of the agreed programme and ensure that theirreports/paperwork are accurate and submitted.
* Ensure all external contractors are suitably qualified and have completed the necessary RAMS and insurance records.
* Sourcing and costing / ordering spare parts and manage budgets accordingly.
* Engagingwith external contractors for maintenance and renovations.
* Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.
* Liaising regularly with staff at all levels including senior management on a variety ofissues from maintenance planning to HR issues.
* Work closely with all department managers to ensure that maintenance programsare coordinated with production to ensure minimum downtime and keep disruption of production to a minimum.
* Assist with the identification and implementation of training requirements.
* The ability to remain calm under pressure and to delegate work correctly.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in engineering qualification is desired.
* 5 years plus experience in leading/ supervising role.
* Proven track record of getting results.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage several priorities at once.
* Good leadership skills that can motivate their team.
* Financial knowledge with the ability to control budgets.
* Results driven with a desire to meet all targets and standards as set out by the General Manager
