We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our clients team based in County Laois
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes for our clients diverse range of steel products. You will be responsible for optimising manufacturing operations, implementing process improvements, andcollaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver superior products to our clients. Will need to have experience with CAD.Role and Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures for the production of steel products.
* Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products, review engineering drawings,and provide input on material selection, welding techniques, and fabrication methods.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions, and lead initiatives to implement these improvements, while maintaining high product quality standards.
* Conduct time studies and capacity analysis to optimise production line layouts, equipment utilisation, and work flowefficiency.
* Perform root cause analysis for production issues, implement corrective actions, and provide technical supportto resolve manufacturing challenges.
* Monitor and analyse production data, including cycle times, scrap rates, and defect rates, to identify trends and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, codes, and regulations.
* Participate in cross-functional teams for new product introductions, product upgrades, and process validations.
* Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the availability of required materials and components.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and CAD
* Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, including plate profiling, welding, cutting, machining, assembly and painting.
* Familiarity with structural steel codes and standards, such as ISO3834, EN 1090, NHSS20 and also ISO standards 9001, 14001 & 45001.
* Experience with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma.
* Solid understanding of production management principles, including capacity planning, production scheduling, and inventory control.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex production issues and implement effective solutions.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectivelyin cross-functional teams.
* Detail-oriented and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
