Description:
Our client, based in Tipp South, requires a packaging technologist. You will be joining a household brand and be part of a well established team, with a healthy and progressive work culture.
As the packaging technologist, your duties will include:
* Key contact for all packaging queries, material and machine.
* Co-ordinate the introduction of new packaging materials or changes to existing packaging using the agreed processes, procedures or systems.
* Accountable for ensuring that there is a fully integrated approach to material approval including Packaging Supplier approval, machine supplier approval, line trials, Transit Testing and Warehouse testing before final handover.
* Work with Master Data Controller to ensure that all relevant packaging related master data is collated and available in a timely manner.
* Maintain detailed specificationsfor all new packaging items which includes the item specification, general material specification, drawings, all dimensions, format in which it will be delivered to site, storage conditions etc...
* Actively support production teams in the optimisationof pack performance on site in a hands-on manner.
* Continuously work with production teams in a hands-on manner to identify,develop and co-ordinate VE opportunities to minimise waste and reduce costs.
* Work with procurement to build and manage Supplier relationships to achieve maximum technical support, optimal machine and material performance and innovative ideas for futuredevelopment.
