My client which is a very big hospital in Cork is looking for a CNM3 (Clinical NurseManager 3) for Theatre Services to join there estemeed organisation. This role plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating activities and resources within the clinical area. It requires a commitment to patient safety and quality, significant nursingexperience, and the ability to provide clinical expertise, guidance, and support to the multi-professional team. Candidate Requirements:
1. Registration with NMBI: The candidate must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), ensuring they meet the necessary professional standards and requirements.2. Demonstrable commitment to patient Safety & Quality: The CNM3 should prioritize patient safety and quality of care, ensuring that best practices are adhered to.
3. Minimum 5 years post-graduate acute care nursing experience: The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in acute care nursing. This experience is essential to provide the necessary clinical expertise.
4. ACLS course completed and up to date (or be willing to undertake):** Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is important for managing critical situations in a clinical setting. The candidate should have current ACLS certificationor be willing to obtain it.
5. Minimum 1 year's experience in a people management role (CNM1 position or equivalent):** The CNM3 should have at least one year of experience in a leadership or management role, such as a CNM1 position or an equivalent role, to effectively manage and lead the team.
6. Excellent knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and skills:** The candidate should have a strong understanding of current nursing practices and skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
7.Ability to make decisions with excellent organizational skills:** The CNM3 must have the capacity to make informed decisions and possess strong organizational skills to manage resources and activities effectively.
8. Completion of a Theatre or Management course is desirable but not essential:** While it's desirable for the candidate to have completed a Theatre or Management course, it's not mandatory. However, such training can be beneficial for this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The CNM3 for Theatre Services will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1. Formulate, implement, and evaluate service plans and budgets:** Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and assess service plans and budgets.2. Provide professional and clinical leadership:** Lead by example and provide clinical leadership to maintain high professional standards.
3. Manage patient care: Ensure that patient care is of the highest quality, using evidence-based care planningapproaches.
4. Manage resources efficiently: Effectively manage resources within the allocated budget to maximize efficiency.
5. Facilitate coordination and cooperation: Promote coordination, cooperation, and communication among multi-disciplinary teams and programs.
6. Personnel function: Play a defined role in personnel management, which may include tasks like staff scheduling and performance evaluations.
7. Safety procedures: Develop and manage effective safety procedures to ensure compliance with statutory obligations, working closely with relevant staff.
8. Communication: Manage communication at both the ward and department levels to ensure effective information flow.
9. Education and training: Contribute to the development and delivery of education, training, and development programs for nursing and non-nursing staff.
10. Policy and procedure development:Participate in the formulation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures at the area and hospital level.
11. Lead and implement change: Lead and drive the implementation of changes and improvements within the clinical area to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
