THE OPPORTUNITY:
We're excited to be recruiting for an international manufacturing company that is experiencing phenomenal growth and are looking to recruit a Health& Safety Advisor to join their site in Preston as they continue to expand.
As part of their next stage of growth, they'renow seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the business and undertake a pivotal role focusing on all aspects relating to Health, Safety and Environment. The successful candidate will need experience of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 as you will be responsible for ensuring that standards are met and that the status is retained.
This is the perfect role for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor from a Manufacturing background within food, beverages, pharmaceutical, FMCG or similar who is looking to join a forward-thinking company where you can bring your expertise and rapidly expand your career.
THE HEALTH & SAFETY ADVISOR ROLE:
* Act as the ambassador in the business for HSE, working with managers across the whole company toencourage compliance and buy-in
* Responsible for the ISO45001, ISO14001 accreditations including monitoring and reporting activities in accordance with the relevant standard and trade bodies
* Reviewing the existing HSE policies and processes to identify areas of improvement and ensure they remain up to date in meeting requirements
* Implement new policies, procedures and processes to improve HSE and efficiency
* Work closely with the UK Head of Health and Safety for the parent group to report KPIs and collaborate on policies
* Investigate all health and safety and environmental issues, in order to implement and developcorrective and preventative measures
* Provide Legislative and Regulation advice to the Management Team on all matters relating to HSE to ensure compliance
* Regularly monitoring the site and workplace to ensure measures are meeting requirements and toidentify areas for improvement
* Producing training material and conducting training where required
* Maintaining company training records and ensuring employees are qualified
* Ensuring new employees receive a H&S induction
THE PERSON:
*Current experience in a Health & Safety Manager, Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, HSE Manager position or similar,within a manufacturing environment
* Good experience of Health & Safety / Health and Safety Management
* Must have experience in managing and maintaining ISO45001 & ISO14001
* NEBOSH General Certificate or higher
* Hold a full valid driving licence.
* Strong communication and organisational skills
