Key Responsibilities:
1 Patient Care:
* Provide high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health conditions, including those with severe mental illnesses, challenging behaviours, and complex needs.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for patients under your care, ensuring they are individualised and recovery-focused.
* Administer medications, monitoring the effects and side effects as appropriate.
* Respond effectively to crises and provide support inde-escalating challenging behaviour.
* Multidisciplinary Teamwork:
* Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, doctors, social workers, and occupational therapists, to provide integrated care.
* Attend team meetings, report on patient progress, and share insights about care plans and treatment outcomes.
* Monitoring and Documentation:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and progress, following legal and ethical standards.
*Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure that any changes in the patient's condition are promptly reported and addressed.* Advocacy and Support:
* Support patients in their journey towards recovery by advocating for their rights, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life.
* Ensure that patients are treated with dignity and respect and support them in maintaining a positive mental state.
* Compliance and Safeguarding:
* Ensure all practice complies with current regulations, including the Mental Health Act and NMC Code of Conduct.
* Safeguard vulnerable individuals by following safeguarding protocols and reporting any concerns in a timely manner.
* Shift Flexibility and Availability:
* Work on an ad-hoc basis,picking up shifts based on availability and demand. Shifts include days, nights, and weekends.
* Be prepared to work in various healthcare settings, including inpatient units, crisis care, and community services.
Skills & Qualifications Required:* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration.
* Proven experience in mental health settings, preferably in a variety of settings such as acute inpatient, community, and crisis teams.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of current mental health legislation and guidelines, including the Mental Health Act.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with theability to manage multiple priorities.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of ad-hoc shifts.
* Must be able to travel between different locations in Greater Manchester.
