Description:
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in Westmeath. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive psychological services to children and adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in conducting assessments and collaborating with the MDT todevelop appropriate support plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct psychological assessments using standardised tools toevaluate the needs of children and adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities.
* Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide holistic care plans for each individual, ensuring their emotional, cognitive, and social needs are met.
* Prepare and deliver detailed written reports outlining assessment findings, recommendations, and appropriate interventions.
* Advise and guide the team, families, and caregivers on the best therapeutic approaches, supports, and services to enhance the wellbeing and development of the children.
* Provide consultations and support to families, carers, and external stakeholders as needed.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of care services.
Requirements:
* A postgraduate qualification in Psychology recognised by PSI.
* Previous experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with Intellectual Disabilities, is preffered but not essential.
* Strong assessment and report writing skills, with experience in standardised psychological assessment tools.
* Experience with ADOS/ADIR preferable but not necessary.
* Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
* A passion for working with children with special needs and a genuine commitment to supporting their development.
