Purpose ofthe Role
A full time permanent vacancy has arisen for the role of a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) in Dublin. The Urgent Care service provides members access to urgent care for minor injuries and illnesses. The RANP in Urgent Care willplay a central role in providing nurse-led care in minor injuries and illness, in an evidence-based environment focused on quality and safety of care delivery.
The RANP in Urgent Care will practice in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct andEthics for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (NMBI 2014), the Scope of Nursing and Midwifery Practice Framework (NMBI 2015), Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (NMBI 2017), and the Values for Nurses and Midwives in Ireland (Department of Health 2016).
The RANP in Urgent Care will practice to a higher level of capability across six domains of competency as defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (NMBI 2017).Eligibility/Essential Criteria
Eligible applicants must have:
1. Nursing & Midwife Board Registered General Nurse (NMBI) Registration for Ireland
2. Must be eligible to work in Ireland (must have visa or permit currently in order to apply)3. Registered as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner on the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Boardof Ireland register
4. Must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical,professional and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
5. Completed a post graduate diplomain Emergency Nursing
6. Demonstrates competency relevant to context of practice.
7. Demonstrate involvement in audit and research. Demonstrate competency in managing a caseload of patients with non-life-threatening injury or illness.
