Description:

The Hybrid clinic administers nurse-led collection clinics overseen by a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM). Within the Hybrid Clinic team, the Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with the CNM to ensure a smooth,secure, and effective collection process, providing exceptional service to both Whole Blood and Apheresis donors. In the absenceof the CNM, the RN assumes leadership responsibilities.

Adherence to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) Codeof Practice and Scope of Practice, as well as compliance with the Quality System and Code of Conduct, is expected of the RN at all times.

The Cork Hybrid Clinic's donor hours are as follows:

* Monday: 12.30 - 20.30 (Bank Holiday Mondays 08.00 - 14.00)
* Tuesday and Thursday: 12.30 - 20.30
* Wednesday: 07.30-15.30
* Friday: 07.30 - 16.30

Staff schedules are organizedto cover the clinic's operating hours, encompassing set-up time and remaining until the last donor departs. Occasional Sunday clinics may be arranged to meet service demands.

Key responsibilities of the RN encompass, but are not limited to:

* Registering Donors
* Recruiting, selecting, and retaining donors
* Screening donors to ensure eligibility
* Performing venepuncture for donation and taking blood samples as needed
* Managing donors during and post-donation
* Identifying and managing adverse events linked to donation
* Prompt and accurate reporting and documentation of incidents and complaints
* Providing staff training as necessary, including relevant documentation completion
* Acting as CNM surrogate when required

* Participating in audits and aiding in implementing required actions/recommendations.

Selection Criteria: Essential Requirements:

* Registration with NMBI (live register) in any division.
* Minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience relevant to the RN role.
* Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
* Evidence of recent continuous professional development (CPD) within the last 12 months.
*Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Proficiency in IT (Microsoft Office, Outlook)and experience with electronic Patient Management/Learning Management systems.
