Description:
Urgent Care Nurse
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team (MDT), the successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering specialized nursing care to patients with various urgent care needs and minor injuries/illnesses. Reporting to the Clinic Nurse Lead, the Staff Nurse will uphold the highest standard of care, prioritizing a patient-centric approach to ensure a positive and comfortable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute urgent care nursing procedures at an industry-leading level.
2. Prioritize patient well-being in all activities and decision-making processes.
3. Provide outstanding patient care management, conduct thorough nurse assessments, and maintain accurate nursing observations.
4. Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, emphasizing clear and empathetic interaction with patients.
5. Manage patient discharge or transfer collaboratively with the administration team.
6. Ensure compliance with legal guidelines for safe medicine administration and storage.
7. Maintain meticulous documentation of nursing records, utilizing relevant electronic systems where applicable.
8. Implement best practices in infection control and adhere to clinic guidelines.
9. Conduct nursing callbacks to follow up with patients as needed.
10. Collect, report, and document relevant data appropriately.
11. Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality of information at all times.
12. Adhere to internal controls, SwiftCare Clinics' policies, procedures, and guidelines.
13. Work within the scope of practice, guided by professional codes and legislation.
14. Attend and contribute to coaching and learning sessions as required.
15. Collaborate with the Quality and Risk Manager for policy development, Accreditation, H&S, and quality improvement initiatives.
16. Actively participate in monitoring and managing complaints in line with company policies.
17. Engage in the quality agenda, attending relevant forums and training events.
18. Report accidents/incidents/near misses promptly to drive the quality agenda.
19. Proactively seek personal development, contributing to enhanced nursing standards.
20. Stay informed about legislation and guidelines governing the nursing profession.
Requirements:1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland as RGN or Dual Qualified in General and Paediatrics Nursing.
2.Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience in areas such as general practice, A&E, urgent care, or trauma orthopaedics.
3.Proficient in IT systems and Electronic Health Records (EHRs).
4. Flexibility to work across a rolling roster, 365 days a year.
5. High level of professional and personal integrity.
6. Emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and resilience to support healing interactions with patients.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both patients and colleagues.
8. Commitment to fostering partnerships, multi-professional relationships, and teamwork.
9. Enthusiastic self-starter with energy and drive.
Desirable:
1. Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care/Community Nursing.
2. Experience in minortrauma, general medicine, paediatrics, sports medicine, or orthopaedics.
3. Wound care qualification.
4. ACLS/PALS certification.
