Our client is a key supplier to the armed forces, who supply fullturnkey services including system design, mechanical and software engineering, system integration, trials, production and delivery services and support. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Buyer/Planner to play a crucial role in maintaining our planning schedule, optimizing supply chain delivery, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse and evaluate forecasts/reports to enhance supply chain delivery
* Collaborate with key supply chain stakeholders to maintain planning and supplier data in the ERP system
* Drive continuous improvement in our company planning systems
* MonitorMRP requirements and order statuses to ensure on-target delivery dates
* Prepare weekly schedule plans and supplier forecasts* Raise, approve, and control purchase orders, expediting production materials as needed
* Review and adjust Material Requirements Plan (MRP) and purchase orders as necessary
* Manage self-vendor relationships, identifying and resolving daily cooperation gaps
* Assist Sub-Contract Managers in ensuring timely supplier performance
The person
* Ability to work within defined compliance and processing structures
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organizational, numeracy, and analytical skills
* 2+ years' experience in planning/procurement or similar roles, preferably in aerospace & defence, engineering, or comparable industries
* Good knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
* Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
