Job description
* We have an exciting opportunity for a growing leader to join the team at the MCA in this pivotal role as the Chief Data Architect.
* Reporting to the Director of IT, the successful applicant will be a key member of the IT Senior Management Team, setting the visionfor the organisation's use of data and leading the delivery of the MCA's data strategy to build our data capability and ensurea strong and consistent data foundation across the MCA.
* You will lead and set direction for a team of data professionals, taking responsibility for maximizing the value that the agency gets from its data and inspiring the organisation to becomedata driven. The role holder will support the technical needs of the business through innovative projects within data architecture.
* The Chief Data Architect will work alongside other senior stakeholders, both within and outside of the MCA, suchas senior asset owners and project delivery teams as well as operational partners such as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and academic institutions to support research.
* As the Chief Data Architect, you will have great exposure atsenior and executive level with involvement in decision making, and this role brings great opportunity for growth in terms of leadership skills which will be backed investment from the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Responsibilities includebut are not limited to:
* Responsible for the definition and delivery of all aspects of the organisation's data strategy including Data Science, Analytics, Data Management and Data Engineering.
* Responsible for providing subject matter expertise to project teams and oversee the management of the full data product life cycle.
* Responsible for ensuring that the organisation'ssystems are designed in accordance with the data architecture principles.
* Responsible and accountable for annual operatingand capital expenditure lines within data science.
