Description: 
The Role 
Due to my client's ambitious growth plans, they are looking for a Materials Controller to join their team. 
Working as part of the Purchasing/Supply Chain Department, you will be responsible for the purchasing and effective management of stock levels for a portion of their product portfolio. 
Key Tasks
 * Managing the performance of suppliers and ensuring thatgoods get delivered on time and in full.
 * Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
 * Work alongside other members of the Purchasing department regarding pricing maintenance, stock holding and deliveries.
 * Working closely with the Service and Sales Departments regarding stock issues.
 * Constantly question current practices, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing process changes with Managers.
 * P/O housekeeping - ensuring all P/O are closed/completedand records kept up to date.
 * Placing orders with suppliers, updating all data aspects of the supply chain, including order confirmations, expected delivery dates, delay reporting, chasing overdue information & goods.
 * Monitoring stock forecastsvs actual usage, mitigating supply risks as a result.
 * Understand supplier production constraints, lead times and seasonal demand increments.
 * Monitor stock turnover and ensure that the right mix of products are held in stock.
 * Manipulating item set up to all in line with current/future sales and warehouse stocking requirements.
 * Constantly analysing and updating the MRP system.
Candidate Specification
 * Broad knowledge of forecasting and inventory control.
 * Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
 * Knowledge of MRP systems.
 * Strong analytical skills - ability to deal with large amounts of complex data.
 * Goodorganisational skills.
 * Open communicator - able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.
 * Team player.* Ability to drive and deliver new initiatives and process improvements.
