Our client is a specialist in delivering suspended ceilings and partitions. Offering a large range of services for the building and fit-out industry and have worked with some of the biggest and best in the business to deliver quality products, on time, to budget and defectfree.
Due to client demand they are expanding their operation by adding a Quantity Surveyor to the Commercial Team.The role is likely to suit a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor who has experience within a subcontractor environment and with knowledge of Dry Lining, Steel Framing Systems (SFS), Partitioning, Suspended Ceilings, Plastering and Fire Stopping.Candidate will be involved with a project from the early stages with procurement through to final account reporting into the Managing Director/Projects Directors.
The client's current projects and forward order book consist of a wide range of contracts from £100k - £1m covering the above packages on large projects gaining repeat business in a range of sectors with tier 1 main contractor, mainly MOJ, DWP, GPA, M&S foods and NHS.
The company is a multi-skill-based subcontractor principally undertaking:
* Partitioning - Glazed, Metal Stud - Plasterboard etc.
* SFS - Metsec
* Plastering - Taping & Joining
* Suspended Ceilings - Plasterboard Ceilings - Metal Tile - Strip & Plank etc.
The Role
* Preparation of project budgets, checking projects contracts, administering projects Contracts.
* Measurement of project to check quantities against tender allowances.
* Set budgets for, and raise payments, for subcontract labour; manage variations as they occur; producing fortnight cost reports to their clients.
* Ensure an awareness of their key responsibilities under the contract; ensureregular agreement of site instructions with the client. Ensure payments are received on time in accordance with the contractualpayment terms; ensure retention monies are released when due.
* Prepare and discuss the final account for projects. Negotiate and agree final accounts within parameters set by Managing Director.
* Prepare monthly Cost Value Reports.
* This role will involve running the commercial requirements alongside the commercially minded Project Managers and Project Directors.Must have
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor specialising in drylining.
* Able to deal well with people ls within their client as well as suppliers.
* Eligible to work full time within the UK.
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Live within commutable distance to of the London area.
* Knowledge or experience of refurbishments, and new build commercial projects.
* Background of Dry Lining & Suspended Ceilings necessary.
