Description:
My client in Newport, South Wales are seeking a Data Analyst on a 6 month contract basis.
A division within this organisation deal with trade statistics and the way they are compiled is changing in order to meet growing user needs and ensure the high quality of the statistics.
They have already made good progress delivering against an ambitious developmentplan. The successful candidate will therefore join trade at a time when they are disseminating new and exciting statistics andanalysis to their users.
TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Contribute to the analysis and production of the monthly and quarterly market sensitive releases
* Contribute to the wider trade team and trade project - involvement in longer-term researchprojects, including the improvement to systems and methods, or producing new analysis for users
* Manage engagement and collaborate with internal and external suppliers and customers
* Matrix manage a multi-disciplinary team - responsible for one or two staff members, if relevant, or matrix management of work
Relevant Qualifications Skills and Experience:
* Ability to deliver quality analysis to tight deadlines
* Ability to collaborate with colleagues across the wider team
* Good communication skills (written and verbal) - gather requirements and understand user needs, contribute to the monthly/quarterly publicationsand relevant briefings, present and explain technical concepts to non-analytical staff and/or stakeholders
* Ability to manage a small team (where relevant) or matrix management of colleague's work
* Aptitude for software/ ability to learn to use newsoftware eg SAS, Python
The standard working week is 37 hours and the rate of pay will be £23.49 per hour.
