Data Engineer - City of London - Upto £65,000 Bonus & Benefits Package - Superb Reinsurance Company with Great People and Culture, 60% Remote Working
Through ongoing growth & development, this superb mid-sized international Reinsurance corporate in the City of London, is now seeking an additional Data Engineer to join their IT team. Taking responsibility for the Data Warehouse and ETL implementation, you will work as part of the team that delivers the data infrastructure, data analytics and the data governance that supports the organization's data strategy.
The Data Engineer will be joining a strong Reinsurance organisation that continues to go from strength to strength, tripling their revenues and increasing theiremployee base over the last 3 years so it's definitely a great time for the Data Engineer to be joining them!
Working as part of the IT Department, responsibilities will include:
* Taking ownership of data warehouse and ETL implementation in collaboration with the organisations 3rd party implementation partner.
* Developing, documenting, and maintaining robust processes that automates data transformation and cleansing while ensuring control, reliability and data quality.
* Turning complex business problems into solvable components and assisting with documenting business requirements with minimal supervision.
* Designing, developing and enhancing analytics dashboards and reporting in Tableau, that generates valuable business insights and driveskey business decisions.
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders across multiple teams to address problems, managingexpectations and aligning project priority.
* The ability work closely with the business to understand their challenges and using that information to gather the requirements and build the future data roadmap.
Expected Skills & Experience:
* Strong experience within Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics, or similar roles.
* Experience within Insurance, Reinsurance, Financial Services, Banking or similar is preferred.
* Strong understanding of data modelling, data architecture and SQL. Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 modelling is a plus.
* Good understanding of ETL concepts and ETL tools - preferably Talend.
* Familiarity with cloud computing platforms & concepts - ideally Azure cloud).
* Familiarity in Agile methodology and testing.
* Familiarity of data/IT security and data governance.
* Experience of source control in Git, DevOps, VM or Docker - container deployment experience is a plus
* Experience in data visualisation using Tableau or similar.
* Experience in statistical analytics and tools, such as Python, R is a plus
* Ability to work effectively in teams with both technical and non-technical individuals.
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical audiences in easy tounderstand ways.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Creativity and open thinking to generate new and improvedways of doing things.
