My client are a prestigious government organisation based in Cardiff. They're seeking a Data Governance Lead (remote role) for an immediate start, until 31 March 2022 with a view to extend (awaitingfunding review).
This position has been deemed 'inside' IR35.
Brief description: This role is an opportunity to establish governance and control around ways of working within the Data, Analytics and Research (DAR) function. They are looking for someonewho has the ability to map and understand business processes, write policies and procedures and manage the impact of change. This is an exciting opportunity to effect change.
Key responsibilities of the post include:
* Identify appropriate functional standards and guidance for the management and production of data, analytics and research
* Develop and embed a framework against these standards. This will include:
* Working to understand current processes and procedures across all workstreamswithin the DAR team
* Leading on the cross-team collaboration in designing the 'to-be' state of processes and procedures
* Investigating suitable analytical models (such as TOGAF, GSBPM and the Aqua Book) for use across the DAR team
* Producing a framework and policies for these models to be used in conjunction with functional standards, and rolling these out to the functionwithin a project management wrapper
* Training and empowering governance champions within the team to embed change
Skillsand Experience Required:
* Experience of Developing standard operating procedures in line with best practice to fit the organisation
* Experience of embedding a governance framework within a department/organisation
* Experience of Data analysis* Experience of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Policy and Data Management principles
* Experience of engaging and building relationships with stakeholders
* Experience of working with/ within a Data Analytics and Data Visualisation function
* Experience of working within an Agile environment
* Experience of Change Management
