Description:
My client in Newport, South Wales are seeking x2 Graduate Software Engineers on a 12 month contract basis.
You will be required to assist with operational support activities on our systems which are used to collect and prepare data for awide range of statistical outputs.
Key requirements:
* Data Capture support including re-factoring and reverse-engineering complex SQL processes, to reduce the support burden.
* Integrating online data collection with production systems
Typical Role responsibilities:
* Provide operational support for applications written in VB6 and SQL Server
* Administer requests for support from help desk, other service delivery staff and/or users
* Investigate issues and requests and determine appropriate action to take
* Design complex programs and program modifications from specifications, using agreed standards and tools* Create, amend and keep track of programs in accordance with the design
* Plan, design and conducts tests of programs; corrects errors and re-tests to achieve an error-free result
* Conduct reviews of supplied specifications, with others as appropriate
Relevant Qualifications Skills and Experience:
* Knowledge of SQL Server 2008 & 2014
* Knowledge of VB6
The daily rate on offer for this role is £106.78. The standard working week is 37 hours, with flexible working as standard.
