InfrastructureEngineer - Remote 3rd Line Support & Project Work - Birmingham location but the Infrastructure team work full Remote WorkingFrom Anywhere Within The UK.
As an Infrastructure Engineer within this superb corporate Insurance Software company based inBirmingham, you will be joining a motivated Infrastructure team that all work remotely to provide their internal Users & Hosted Clients with 3rd Line Support & Project work across their IT environment, consisting of physical & Virtual Windows Servers and Citrix solutions, including XenApp & NetScaler.
From installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, patching & updates, the Infrastructure Engineer has a broad remit across Windows Servers (2012 to 2022), Citrix Servers & technologies including XenApp & NetScaler, VMWare for virtualisation, Active Directory, configuring Group Policy, ADFS,Domains, WSUS, Solarwinds, SAN's & other storage solutions.
With interesting & challenging work which can be delivered remotely from anywhere within the UK, the Infrastructure Engineer will provide their knowledge & expertise across the IT environment - creating, improving, monitoring, troubleshooting and supporting both virtual & physical Servers to ensure thatthe performance & high availability SLA's are met.
Responsibilities Include:
* Working across a wide variety of Windows Servers & Citrix Software and Applications to provide a prompt, friendly and professional 3rd Line support & Projectservice to their internal IT users & external Hosted Clients, including system management & administration, Virtualisation, Automation, Shell Scripting, documenting & testing new implementations.
* Planning and installation of new Server hardware & software, monitoring system uptimes, ensuring high availability whilst resolving complex client related problems anddesigning/implementing all data centre and internally hosted infrastructure
* Identifying & addressing system configuration and/or performance irregularities.
* Developing procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner
* Documenting and improving existing infrastructure processes and procedures
* Serving as a technical resource by providing support tomultiple projects across different business units
Preferred Skills & Experience:
* Good experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, used to providing 3rd Line level support
* Good Windows Server skills including builds, configuration & implementation
* Experience of managing, securing and installing Hosted Infrastructure - in particular: Citrix hosted applications(XenApp & Netscaler) together with the associated AD + GPO configuration
* Ideally experience of both Citrix XenApp &NetScaler
* Infrastructure Automation and Shell scripting skills
* Virtualisation using VMware
* AD, GPO, ADFS, Domains, Permission Models & WSUS
* SolarWinds or similar monitoring solutions
* HPE Primera /Nimble storage or similar
* Additional knowledge of Cloud solutions across AWS, GCP or Azure is beneficial as the company will be moving to a Cloud 1st approach in the near future.
