M365 Voice & Telephony Architect
Role Type: Contract
Location: Hybrid (once a week London office)
Rate: £600 - £650 per day Outside IR35
Duration: up to 29 March 2024 (possible extension)
At high level we need someone with Telephony experience. Prior experience working with migration of onsite PBX to cloud VoIP solution especially with Microsoft azurewill be great. The person needs to have strong networking background and can lead.
1. As Architect, you will develop detailedsolution design documentation, encompassing architecture diagrams and technical specifications. Utilise industry standards suchas ITU-T recommendations and ETSI standards to guide the implementation team.
2. Architect and supervise the deployment of Teams Direct Routing solutions, employing industry best practices to ensure seamless communication across the organisation. Utiliseadvanced configurations to optimise routing paths and enhance call quality.
3. Collaborate closely with the technical team toseamlessly integrate Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) functionalities into the Teams environment. Configure gateways andconnectors to establish a robust connection between Teams and external telephony networks.
4. Lead the end-to-end process of porting existing phone numbers to designated carriers. Implement strategies to minimise downtime and ensure uninterrupted telephony services.
5. Configure Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunks with precision, optimising voice communication and connectivity. Implement load balancing and failover mechanisms to enhance the resilience of the telephony infrastructure.
6. Implement and manage intricate Quality of Service parameters, leveraging MPLS technologies to guarantee optimal voice quality, minimise latency, and ensure the reliability of telephony services.
7. As Architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct in-depth analysis and optimisation of the telephony infrastructure. Implement advanced routing protocols and ensure the efficient use of resources for enhanced overall system efficiency.
8. Identify potential risks associated with telephony deployment using risk assessment frameworks. Develop and execute proactive mitigation strategies, employing redundancy and failover mechanisms to address potential challenges.
9. Engage in technical discussions with telephony solution vendors to evaluate and select appropriate technologies. Ensure compatibility and adherence to project goals by validating interoperability through protocolconformance testing.
10. Conduct comprehensive integration testing of telephony components, utilising tools such as Wiresharkfor packet analysis. Validate system interoperability and address any potential issues to guarantee a seamless telephony environment.
11. Develop and deliver technical training sessions for end-users, covering telephony system functionalities, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices. Ensure a smooth transition and high user adoption of the new telephony environment.
12. Implement advanced tools for ongoing performance monitoring, utilising protocols like SNMP and custom monitoring scripts. Troubleshoot issues in real-time and optimise telephony systems for peak performance.
13. Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations and security standards. Implement encryption protocols, access controls, and secure communication channels to safeguard sensitive telephony information. Regularly audit and update security
