Management Accountant/Financial Controller - Innovative Technology Business
My client is an innovative technology platform as a service business based in central London.
Due to the successful growth of the business, they are expanding the team and are now looking for a talented and pro-active Management Accountant/Financial Controller who can provide accounting and finance support to the finance team. This is a newly created position, which will give the right candidate the opportunity to develop and expand the role. We're looking for people ready to work hard, challenge and support a team in one of Europe's fastest growing startups.
It is the vital link between business, strategy and long-term planning - they need someone withreal "get up and go" who can come in and impart financial wisdom and discipline.
Responsibilities - Management Accountant/Financial Controller:
* Manage the month end processes, including management account, monthly journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Manage AP and AR, providing hands-on support to the finance assistant.
* Work with the external payroll teamto prepare 2 monthly payrolls and manage all payroll related requirements.
* Manage all tax requirements, including corporation tax and the preparation of VAT returns and reconciliations.
* Manage the annual reporting and audit process, being a key contact for auditors.
* Manage relationships with external finance stakeholders (including insurers, the bank and HMRC).
* Ad hoc finance projects, reporting and analysis.
* Improve and enforce strong financial processes and controls to ensure integrityand accuracy of all financial data.
The Management Accountant/Financial Controller will have:
* Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws andregulations.
* Strong numerical skills, attention to detail and methodical approach.
* Excellent time management skills andwith the ability to manage conflicting deadlines.
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
* Consistently maintain a professional and personable attitude due to the confidential nature of the work.
* Energetic and a passion to learnand develop your accounting and finance skills.
Most importantly - A genuine desire to get hands-on in a start-up environment.
