Pathology IT Manager
Band 7 rates: £250-£350 (negotiable)
An opportunity has arisen for a Pathology IT Manager with an NHS client of ours based near Hampshire.
The Pathology department consists of Blood Sciences, Cellular Pathology and Medical Microbiology. The department currently uses Telepath v5.3 as its Laboratory Information System (LIMS)but there is the intension to implement a new network LIMS as part of a Southern Counties Pathology Network in the near future.
The department integrates with the Hospital's Patient Information System; eCarelogic and the GP SystemOne via an ICE interface. Currently GPs are able to request via Order Comms, this will be rolled out in a project, which includes Radiology electronic requesting, to the Acute Hospital in 2020. Numerous smaller IT projects are planned which include introduction of new analysers, the use of NPEx between Trustsand upgrading the current servers.
- You must have demonstrable IT skills, experience of working with Pathology LIMS would berequired.
- You will need to be able to problem solve IT issues, develop protocols and work cooperatively across departments.
- There is a requirement to train staff to use the systems so excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- You must be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
