Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Release Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. The Release Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and efficient deployment of software releases for our client's healthcare software solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in release management,Azure DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and overseethe end-to-end release process for healthcare software solutions, from planning and scheduling to deployment and post-release monitoring.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, quality assurance, and operations, to coordinate release activities and ensure smooth delivery of releases.
* Develop and maintain release management policies,procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with industry standards.
* Utilize Azure DevOps (formerlyknown as Visual Studio Team Services) to configure, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
*Implement best practices for version control, branching strategies, and release branching in Azure DevOps.
* Monitor release progress, identify and address issues or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions as needed to minimize downtime and ensuresuccessful deployments.
* Conduct post-release reviews and retrospectives to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement,and optimize release processes for future releases.
* Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to release engineering, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD, and make recommendations for process improvements and enhancements.
Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience working as a Release Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in the healthcare industry or a related field.
* Strong expertise in release management principles, practices, and methodologies.
* Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (formerly known as Visual Studio Team Services) and configuring CI/CD pipelines.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.
* Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git), branching strategies, and release branching techniques.
*Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
* Strong communicationand collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
