THE OPPORTUNITY:
We're working closely with an Electronics Manufacturer located in Rochester who is seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join the team.
You'll be joining a highly successful business that is continuing to expanding their operation due to a number of key contract wins and as a result, they're now looking for an additional team member to join as an Electronics Design Engineer.
An excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a company and be involved in designing state of the art electronics.
THE ELECTRONICS DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE:
* Design and develop the electronic aspects of products suitable for efficient production, meeting designated standards and customer expectations.
* Make world-class electronic designs on time and within budget
* Producing world-class designs for efficient manufacture in line with customer expectations and international standards.
* Enable the product design, modification and approval with regard to EMC and safety and support environmental (e.g. temperature, shock & vibration) approval.
* Maintaining documentation to assist new product design and manufacturing.
* Maintaining records of completed designs and research activities.
* Liaising with Production to ensure good design for production.
* Liaising with Purchasing and external component suppliers to enable the optimal component selection with regard to technical performance, cost and availability.* Liaising with Sales and Marketing to ensure products meet market and customer requirements.
* Evaluating competitive products in line with budgets and market needs.
* Meeting with customers to understand and define their requirements and propose technical solutions.
* Provide pre-sale and post sale technical support.
* Proposing new product concepts to Marketing.
* Liaising with Quality Assurance to ensure continual improvement in keeping with ISO9001:2015
THE PERSON:
* Current experience of Electronic hardware design (including schematic and BoM). Ideally designing Military grade product design.
* PCB layoutdesign including high speed video and military emc compliance.
* Some Firmware design skills (embedded C / Visual Basic / C#)* Understanding of mechanical design factors.
* Knowledge of military standards and ability to gain compliance and approval(emc and supporting electronic aspects environmental).
* Ability to work accurately to short time scales.
