Description:

Experienced and driven Head of Product to join a busy London office and lead the global product team.
Responsibilities include:
*Taking overall responsibility for all products managed by your direct reports.
*Ensuring the successful implementation of product developmentsfor all products in line with the direction and strategy as defined by the Global Product Director.
*Working with all relevantareas of the global business at all levels to present, negotiate and agree commercially viable product solutions for the benefit of all global offices.
*Ensuring a consistent approach to product development and communication so there is a clear and consistent message across all destinations and product ranges.
*Undertaking internal, customer and competitor research to ensure that product developments represent a clear commercial opportunity based on customer and distribution demand and meeting financial objectives.
*Overseeing the procurement of products from local suppliers to ensure that we agree commercially viable terms;meeting the required standards of quality and service; satisfying health and safety requirements; and developing relationships with appropriate DMCs to fulfil this.
*Overseeing relationships with key airlines and the negotiation of competitive fares including access to promotional fares and exclusive deals.
*Developing tactical offers based on negotiated terms with airlines andsuppliers for use in marketing campaigns to drive sales volume.
*Taking responsibility for the communication of product information to customers via brochures, websites and other sales channels through the supply of copy and pricing tables; proofing ofcustomer materials and the supply of information to other staff as required.
*Paying specific attention to online distributionensuring existing products are suitable for online sales and that we develop appropriate new online products as systems developments allow.
*Ensuring that products are maintained and improved through product changes and operational management focusing on customer satisfaction, brand values and health and safety.
*Defining and implementing appropriate processes to ensure that the work within the product team is produced accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
*Ensuring that appropriate communication is in place so that all relevant parts of the business receive the necessary information in an accurate and timely manner.
*Taking line management responsibility for the destination product managers, the Cruise Extensions/DMC Product Manager and the Air Product Manager. Ensuring that staff are effectively managed, have regular reviews and have appropriate access to training and development.
*Supporting your team members as required in any matters where they require guidance or more senior approval.
*Undertaking appropriate planning to ensure that all team members are working to common deadlines and that timely deliverymeets the needs of the business.
*Taking complete ownership of the products within your remit by competently and willing addressing any product issues as required even if these are not specifically stated within your job description.
Skills required:*Strong management skills, able to lead and develop a professional team
*Outstanding organisational skills, methodical and able to prioritise
*Attention to detail, systems orientated
*Strong commercial, analytical and numeracy skills
*Proven writing skills, including ability to develop brochures and other customer literature and accurately proof them
*Lateral thinking andproblem-solving ability
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong creative flair
*High energy, positive "can do" spirit and strong team ethic
*Aptitude to learn various reservations systems
*Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines with flexible working hours
*Competency using Microsoft Office Suite
The Package:
*Salary in the region of £50,000 depending on experience
