Description:

My client, a subsidiary company of Clare County Councilthat oversees the management of a variety of visitor attractions and in County Clare, is seeking to hire a Sustainable TourismCoordinator to manage the transition of County Clare to a certified sustainable tourism destination.

This is a 3-year fixedterm contract. You will be reporting to the Manager of one of UNESCO Global Geopark.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

* Guide the certification process facilitating their transition towards 2030 and 2050 climate targets.
* Manage meetings and communications.
* Engage with all tourism stakeholders and provide training and/or focus groups on aspects of sustainability within the destination.
* Co-ordinate collaboration between all departments within the Council on relevant data collection and reporting, managing the sustainable tourism data bank and dashboard, and cross promoting the Climate Action Plan and UNSDG's with Environment section.
* Raise internal and public awareness of EU Directives and Global Agreements on legal commitments that impact tourism.
* Prepare and present regular reports and status updates.
* Between others.

In order to be successful, you will have:

* A recognised postgraduate qualification in tourism or equivalent professional qualification and adequate experience in tourism destination development.
* Knowledge of national and international tourism legislation and policies.
* Experience in data collection, analytics, and visualisation.
* Proven presentation and reporting, interpersonal, writtenand verbal communication skills.
* Experience in third party certification processes and/or tourism indicator systems and surveys.
* Familiar with the GSTC and its network.
* Experience in working effectively as part of a multi sectoral team.

The successful candidate is required to have a current full class B drivers' licence and access to own car.
