The Book of Man are on tour in the UK this Summer!
This Summer, The Book of Man are hitting the road for a series of nationwide events which aim to tackle the issues facing men today and provide inspiration for the future.
The first date will take place in Sheffield on 27th July at new multi-use venue Kommune, and will feature comedian Russell Kane, adventurer Megan Hine and Sheffield's poet laureate Otis Mensah.
Ticket profits from the event will be going to suicide prevention charity CALM.
The workshop-style event will take the form of a series of panel discussions and interviews to tackle issues of
masculinity, mental health, resilience, relationships and self-care, as well as provide a platform for new role
models. They are also designed to be fun, sociable events with plenty of audience interaction. Freedom Brewery are the partners for the events, and guests will be encouraged to have the ‘Freedom to…ask awkward questions’ to facilitate lively debates.
This event is open to all genders of all ages. Food and drink will be available to purchase throughout the afternoon and CALM will be on hand to have a chat and answer any questions.
Here is the running order for the day:
2pm 'Mental Health & Men' with Brendan Stone from the University of Sheffield and one of the founders of mental health charity, Sheffield Flourish, Angga Kara a mental health and well being expert for men, and Ben Hawley, Communications Director for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
3pm 'Why we need to reconnect with nature' with adventurer Megan Hine.
4pm 'The Male Psyche' with comedian and author Russell Kane.
5pm Otis Mensah - special performance by Sheffield's poet laureate.
The Book of Man were recently crowned winners of the prestigious PPA Innovation of the Year award, for the
launch of the brand, to cap a remarkable first year.
