If you are an aspiring actor, or you are a trained actor new to the Meisner Technique, the Meisner Short Acting Course: Foundations for Beginners is for you.
The course is designed to introduce students to the method and to lay the foundations for further study into the technique.

Each week students will work through acting exercises encouraging them to progressively step out of their comfort zone.
Through the cornerstone exercise of Meisner repetition students learn how to connect with their emotional instrument as well as with the other actor.
The course will encourage and train you to delve into their own emotional experiences and teach you how to use your imagination to create the improvised exercises that are the hallmark of the Meisner Technique.
The skills you will begin to learn in Foundations are necessary for giving powerful, truthful and memorable performances on screen and stage.
MEISNER SHORT COURSE OUTCOME
The course introduces new and working actors to the Meisner Technique. Once students complete Foundations they may choose to continue on to Acting Technique I. the first stage of the core Meisner Acting Course offered at the Actors Door Studio.
WHY TAKE THE SHORT COURSE:
If you take the course, you will learn practical acting skills that you can begin to apply almost immediately to your acting – as well as in your everyday life.
In addition to the practical hands-on skills you will learn, the course offers students a unique opportunity to meet and work with like-minded actors. Through the Meisner Foundations short course, you will also get the opportunity to join the vibrant, ever growing, but select community of actors attending the Actors Door Studio.
The relationships you build during the course will stay with you well after the course is finished.

The Meisner Technique is a full method acting training program designed for people who want to pursue acting professionally. In each acting class you will be challenged; progressively invited to venture outside of your comfort zone. You need to allow yourself to embrace the technique with an open mind and open heart. If you do, the technique has the power to really transform you not only as an actor, but also as an individual.
All welcome, you don’t need to have any previous experience in acting. In fact the less experience the better!
